MULATAH - Danslärare
Mulatah, born in Venezuela with Colombian parents.
Since childhood, music and dance were her best past-times. At the age of 16 she began her dance career at the Folkloricas Warepu Dance School (Colombian folkloric dances). In 2010 she began her studies in commercial urban dances at the High Tension Academy. In 2012 she trained for a year with Ballet clasico.
In 2012 she won the solo Maracaibo Dance Show competition in Venezuela, where she presented her first urban solo dance. This is when her desire to learn more styles of dance increased, and thus began to research on their African roots, as well as studying and learning more about the Jamaican culture.
While studying about cultures with African roots, she remained busy with important events in Venezuela such as, Miss Venezuela, and dancing with high-end artists in Venezuela. She was one of the pioneers of dancehall in her city, which made her part of the Venezuelan Crew Union “Fyah Venezuela,” which is formed by dancehall sculptors from different cities of Venezuela.
In 2014 she was awarded a recognition for promoting Dancehall culture in her city. She has been the organizer of Dancehall battles and All Style. Also had the opportunity to record with Chino and Nacho excellent exponents of Venezuelan reggaeton.
In 2015 she traveled to Colombia, where she had the opportunity to be part of the group of dancers of Kevin Florez, who is a great ambassador of the Champeta in Colombia (Champeta africana). She helped to promote the Dancehall culture in Colombia, getting into the most hidden corners of this country.
In 2016 she travelled to Ecuador and was part of the urban ballet of Ecuador, where she had the opportunity to make a cultural exchange (teach and learn) for a year. Here she spent a year training her body with classical Ballet and experimental Jazz. Here she had the opportunity to experiment as a model and record commercials for television. Her strengths as a dancer are in the areas of dancehall and afro fusion.
Her philosophy: A true dancer is one in body and soul, a true dancer never stops learning.
